KUMO

Commissioned by creative agency Studio Works, I designed and illustrated a library of character illustrations to be used across all brand touchpoints for a new Japanese restaurant in the UAE called KUMO. Kumo, meaning “cloud” in Japanese, brings a sense of calm and comfort to Dubai’s dining scene with an ethos rooted in tradition and tranquillity. The illustrations were inspired by Japanese toys and woodblock prints, their naive and playful energy combined with imperfect mark making bring a sense of authenticity and fun to the homely and immersive environment. The illustrations were used across social, stationery, clothing, wayfinding and more.
